where was your bleeding heart then?

So it's been far too long since I've written on this blog, I had some readers but I doubt that there are any checking this regularly anymore. Hopefully, my hands will remain well enough to allow me to post more often again....one can hope.

So okay where to start...??? Ah yes....good ol' rush....did anyone hear his speech? If not surely you've heard of the #$^#storm it created. I hope he [President Obama implied] fails...What was he thinking? In my book that's akin to saying he hopes America fails.

He, as far as I understand (and please someone correct me if I'm wrong), bemoans both the stimulus package (passed!) and the health care reform proposed. Where's his bleeding heart for the little guy? For the family that can't afford decent health care? For the disabled who can't afford med.'s or the retiree who has to choose between rent or med.'s?

Does anyone recall hearing him propose helping fix the problems? I don't. Does anyone recall him bemoaning the unchecked 'executive powers' being used in the last administration? Or the big oil companies (making record profits) demanding tax breaks when they clearly don't need them? I don't.

I don't think rush is 'running' the Republican party. But I do think that too many bitter people are. Which brings me to my next rant...

When will people admit that this nation voted to change directions. We voted for some change. We we're tired of irresponsible spending (and now many who didn't have a problem with it when there guy was in charge seem to all the sudden have issue with it...odd huh) and broken systems.

I've seen a site both promoting 'praying' for President Obama (thru his first 100 days in office) and trying to make a spectacle out of his spending policy with a 'national debt meter'. Okay fair...our national debt is way to high....BUT President Obama inherited much of it....where were the bleeding hearts then? Oh don't tell me....they didn't care then....cuz it was being ran up by their guy.

Some say they've given the President a chance....but when you read what they say it's clear that they didn't really....they just did enough to be able to say that they gave him a chance.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't think Obama is perfect...I disagreed with one of his first acts as President....but at least he's trying to do some good for the little guys. For the average joe's and jane's across this great land. We're not skipping down a path to socialism (at least not in the sense that the USSR was) We're not just throwing money out the window (I see first hand the positive affects of the stimulus package in my community, in my county, in my state and region....)

I think it's HIGH time that the bitter few shut there mouths for a minute and actually open their eyes....then they might see something they like about America today....they might see that we want a cleaner (smaller) carbon footprint....that we want a solid safety net...that the banks and auto industry ASKED for a bailout...under the previous administration.

For that to happen though...they'd have to let go of their bitterness....I've seen first hand how someone who has that demeanor acts. I've seen firsthand how someone like that makes a ruckus when they don't get THEIR way....I've seen someone like that destroy a perfectly good program for youth in my own community....come to think of it, that person loves rush.

Anyone else see a patter???...

WHY

Okay so I've had it....why is it that the critics of someone almost always refuse to play by the same rules? To many, it seems okay to criticize this or that person, in the latest case I've encountered it's Sen. Obama, but when you respectfully contradict them, they shut down and/or rationalize why it's okay for there side to play by different rules.
I read a post on a forum. It's a forum for ministers in fact, where so many seem to have jumped on the band wagon against Sen. Obama. They praise Gov. Palin, yet ignore her ethics mess or how she thanked Sen. Obama for standing up for her daughter (see previous post). It seems that that is totally okay, and anything Sen. Obama says or does is not.
Someone posted a list of claims, many of which are inaccurate, yet I gave up on the thread as I know no matter what I said, it wouldn't be well received. While I still use the forum, while I still love the people, it escapes me that logic.
Some seem to think that only one party has claim to voters who are of the Christian Faith. Yet Sen. Obama himself is a Christian, and slammed his party over how they've slighted people of Faith. (Yea he's a threat to our freedom's....give me a break!) He's still playing by the rules that he and Sen. McCain both said they would adhere to (not running a smear campaign....seen any of McCain's recent ads?) But I guess I need to remember that that's okay for one to change the rules mid game like that.
Some of you may very well think that I'd've not posted something like this if it we're the opposite way, but your wrong...I'm an Independent, not a Democrat or Republican...and I'm proud that I am an Independent! I'm a Christian, a minister in fact, who is proud to say that he is voting for Sen. Obama! Yet some think that means I ain't sitting right with God....I didn't realize we live in a theocracy....my bad.

i almost cried

hey all~
*so i know i haven't posted in a while, sorry...hope theres still some out there who will read this*

so i don't know how many of you caught any of the rnc this past week. i caught some with my family (my step father is a mccain supporter [we don't mind being on different sides of the fence in this])

i almost cried when i was listening to gov. palin speak. she lambbasted sen obama....and after he stood up for her family saying to the news media 'family is off limits' he told them to lay off essentially, i view that as a good man standing up for a good principal....but her thanks to him included mocking his experiance and his ability. (she concentrated on those two topics more then his proposed policies, odd i thought)

my step father was even dismayed at her speech, we both understood former mayor of NYC gulliani, he doesn't like sen obama, he tried to get his parties nomination so he was running against obama in the begining....but gov palin just made me want to cry

then i read tonite, the recaps and highlights from sen mccains acceptance speech....he said he'll change washington....he said he'll bring real change....he bemoaned how many go to washington to change it yet it winds up changing them....he said he's different....if all that's true, then why does he support so many failed policies and why is he engaging in dirty politics....and that's after he said he'd play fair.

this disgusts me....to think that these two want to run the greatest country in the world....with such bitterness and disregard for basic politeness.....with such lies....granted both gov. palin and mccain are experianced...but i personally think that there experiance has changed them....and changed them in such a way that they can't change washington.

i'm prouder then ever to say i support sen obama...i'm a christian, i'm disabled, i'm gen. x....and i support sen obama!

It's About time...

So by now anyone who reads my blogs, weather here or on any forum I may use, knows I am an avid supporter of Barack Obama! One thing though that has disturbed me recently has been this mess with his former pastor, Jerimiah Wright.
Well it seems that Sen. Obama has finally done the right thing about Mr. Wright, and sought to distance himself. He has publicly split so to say, with his former pastor, his friend and mentor...a hard but necessary choice, not just if he wishes to be elected, but a necessary choice for a good honorable life!
So cheers Sen. Obama, thank you for showing us that even when it's hard, you can do the right thing!

Why Google and Yahoo would be a great pair.

Last gasp? Yahoo and Google talking search ad deal » VentureBeat

Why could this venture be good? Well the biggest reason is: it would EXCLUDE micro$uck from a 'hostile' un-warranted' unasked for take over of Yahoo.

Yahoo and Google are both based on search, then portal, then software...where as the Redmond Giant is based on Software first....

Finally, Google has a better financial outlook then Micro$ucks does, with the floping of Vista and all, the Redmond Giant will be having to scramble to keep up with the likes of Linux and Mac.
